Boğaziçi CT3

Device Name / Brand / Model
• Name: Benchtop PET/CT System (Small-Animal PET/CT)
• Brand: MRS
• Model: Benchtop

Overview
The benchtop PET/CT system is designed to meet high-precision imaging needs for small laboratory animals such as mice and rats. It integrates PET and CT components for sequential imaging using a motorized bed with sub-millimeter positioning precision. The PET module features advanced CLIP-ON technology, allowing it to be easily detached from the CT system and connected to a 7T MRI scanner, enabling sequential PET/MR imaging.

Purpose / Output
• Functional imaging (PET) and anatomical imaging (CT) in mouse/rat models
• Integrated sequential PET/CT imaging for comprehensive analysis in the same subject
• Sequential PET/MR imaging on a 7T MRI via the CLIP-ON PET module
• High-resolution PET activity distribution maps using advanced reconstructions
• High-detail CT anatomical images for soft-tissue/bone structural assessment

Application Areas
• Preclinical oncology: tumor imaging, therapy response assessment, and target tracking
• Pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics and biodistribution studies
• Neuroscience: brain imaging and receptor/target studies
• Cardiovascular and inflammation models
• Multimodal imaging workflows: sequential PET/CT and PET/MR protocols

Highlights
• Sub-millimeter motorized bed for highly repeatable positioning
• CLIP-ON PET module detachable from CT and connectable to 7T MRI (PET/MR capability)
• PET reconstruction support (FBP and 3D OSEM) suitable for ~0.7 mm spatial resolution imaging
• CT spatial resolution of 50 µm and low-dose technology to reduce exposure without compromising image quality

Radiation Safety Infrastructure
Similar to nuclear medicine clinical setups, our facility includes a hot lab with a fume hood for safe storage and handling of radioactive materials. In addition, a dedicated radioactive waste area and a decontamination shower are available. For radiation detection and dose-rate measurements, we use well-type detectors, wall-mounted area radiation monitors, and portable Geiger–Muller devices.
